Uses: This relatively new oil to aromatherapy
has been somewhat controversial, but although it
comes from the cannabis sativa plant, hemp is not
pot and cannot be used as a drug because it produces
virtually no THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol).
Though it is frequently confused with marijuana,
this commercial strain of hemp is grown in Canada
for its fibre and seeds, which are used in the huge
range of hemp products now available on the market
legally.
Many uses for hemp essential oil are known, besides
aromatherapy, including the use in products as diverse
as cosmetics, soaps, shampoos, creams, oils, perfumes,
foodstuffs and beer.
